The 60th Annual National Lake Trout Derby
May 25, 26, 27, 2024 on Seneca Lake.
Trout fishing is awesome in the Finger Lakes region of New York, especially Seneca Lake. At the Annual National Lake Trout Derby on Seneca Lake, anglers compete for prizes for the biggest for Lake Trout, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout or Landlocked Salmon.
Fishing will be from 6am Saturday to noon Monday, and participants can take their catches to one of two weigh stations – in Geneva and Watkins Glen. The 2024 National Lake Trout Derby is open to adults and youth 5 and older.

Prizes
A $10,000 grand prize will go to the person who catches the largest lake, brown or rainbow trout or landlocked salmon.
There will be major awards in two divisions:
Lake Trout, ranging from $1,000 to $3,000; and
Brown trout, Rainbow trout and Landlocked salmon, ranging from $750 to $2,000.
Awards will also be given in juvenile, teen, senior, women and men’s divisions.
